The Renault 19 was produced from 1988 to 2000. It was the last Renault to be given a number, and it did very well in the particularly competitive "compact" segment. Designed in a 5-door version, but also as a coupé-cabriolet, it was a great success, to the point of being twice recognised as the best-selling foreign car of the year in Germany.
